Take Action

Housing Claremont and Inland Abundant Housing are part of a broad statewide coalition united to rescue housing funds in the final negotiations over the upcoming state budget. Please help us save these vital programs by contacting @GavinNewsom. See our full message here: https://bit.ly/3VgdYPQ.

California's affordable housing and homelessness crises are the most urgent issues facing our region. We've made important progress, but some of our most successful housing programs are still in need of secure funding. Please  send emails using the housing campaign’s very easy click-to-email” platform here.

Encourage Governor Newsom, your senators, and assemblymember to approve the funds and advance the measures that will help solve our homelessness crisis and build more of the safe, affordable homes Californians desperately need.

Our Mission

Building the Movement for Housing for All

Housing & Homelessness Collaborative of Claremont (or Housing Claremont) is a volunteer non-profit organization that serves our city and region by advocating for solutions to our need for more housing, homeless services, and tenant protection. We collaborate with other groups to support high-quality, well-planned housing development and redevelopment for all income levels, prioritizing the critical needs of low and very low-income individuals. We monitor the implementation of the city’s General Plan Housing Elements and compliance with state laws and mandates. We share research and experience about best options for expanding housing and reducing homelessness.

Introducing Inland Abundant Housing: Building Partnerships for Sustainable Housing Solutions

Our new initiative in 2024, Inland Abundant Housing, a chapter of Abundant Housing Los Angeles, organizes collaboration regionally across the Pomona Valley, with a main priority on encouraging development of new permanent supportive housing and services on the property of religious entities and non-profit colleges.

Only 1 new home per 5.55 jobs added in LA County.

  • That’s why rents are so high.

  • To overcome many of our biggest challenges, we need more housing.

HOW WE HELP THE HOUSING CRISIS

zoning.

RESOURCE LIBRARY

POLICIES & LEGISLATION

We Advocate at the Claremont, County-regional, and state levels for policies and legislation that facilitate building housing.

TRAINING & EMPOWERMENT

We promote and collaborate with people organizing for housing in your own neighborhoods. We provide training, tools, and guidance.

PROJECT ADVOCACY

We advocate for projects in our region that bring housing and center equity in their proposals through robust tenant protections and affordable units. We monitor local compliance with state mandates and with local government’s own approved housing plans.

COLLABORATION

We collaborate with, and keep learning about the issues from, YIMBY, Housing California, Abundant Housing LA, National Coalition for Low Income Housing, and any local organizations or governmental bodies that share our concerns. Let’s watch each other’s backs, and build a movement that unites rather than splintering.
